What is your current position? What is your area of focus?  

Lead Regional Sales Manager for QuantumFlo, A Wilo Brand, for the Western US. We manufacture Domestic Water Plumbing Boosters and support ASPE as an Affiliate Level Sponsor. I work closely with our representatives to design, specify, and sell Plumbing Boosters Systems for commercial building applications.

What are your Career Journey Highlights?

• In my 30+ year career in plumbing I have had the honor of working with many fantastic representatives across the country, most of whom have become friends in addition to colleagues.
• Replacing outdated constant speed systems with modern VFD boosters is one of the greatest changes to occur in the plumbing industry. I love to present products that increase efficiency and sustainability.
• Supplying the booster system (Triplex, VMS pumps with VFDs) for the Pittsburgh Penguins arena and participating in the “Superflush” was a unique experience.
• Traveling the country has given me the opportunity to visit destinations I might never have seen. It has also helped me work towards my goal of seeing a game in every MLB stadium. (I’ve visited 18 so far.)

What is one piece of advice you would give to others just starting out in the field?
Find mentors and talk to them regularly. People who are willing to pass on knowledge gained through their experience can be invaluable resources. 

What motivated you to get into the plumbing engineering industry?
Working in my current position has given me the opportunity to use advanced technology to provide booster systems that move water intelligently. I like working with a product that helps to reduce energy usage and offers proven cost savings to the end user.

What is the most exciting or rewarding aspect of your work?
There is always something new to learn. I have the privilege of working with some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry, and they are generous in sharing their knowledge. Some days are spent in engineering or contractors’ offices, others on jobsites or at our manufacturing facility, and even a few in my home office. Seeing new buildings and the things people are doing is always exciting. Every day brings a new challenge. 

What value have you gained from participation in ASPE Connect?
I look forward to logging in everyday to see the challenges plumbing professionals are facing. Understanding the opportunities associated with our equipment helps us to develop user-friendly products. ASPE Connect is a great way to capture the voice of the customer and influences product development that pushes the industry forward. Plus, it is a collection of excellent resources.

What is your favorite hobby or pastime outside of work? 
My husband and I enjoy competition shooting and have plenty of opportunities to participate in the sport near our home in northern Nevada. We are also 4th Dan Masters in Taekwondo.
