I am a principal, with a focus on plumbing and fire protection.

What motivated you to get into the plumbing engineering industry?
I started at drafting in a small NYC engineering firm. The Plumbing and fire protection department head suggested that I join his department as a drafter. He proceeded to teach me plumbing and fire protection. From there, I went on to larger companies then started my own engineering firm in NYC where we focused on low income and affordable residential apartment buildings, schools and office fit-outs. I sold my company to Skyline engineering in 2017 which was then sold to AMA Group in 2024 where I am currently a principal at.
What are the most exciting or rewarding aspects of your work?
- Bringing in new work from repeat clients who trust our design and value our expertise.
- Working on affordable housing which is desperately needed in the city.
- Always learning new technology in making the buildings more energy efficient.
What value have you gained from participation in ASPE Connect?
It is helpful to see what my peers are thinking and what solutions they bring to the table.
What is the most interesting plumbing design challenge you have encountered?
Wastewater heat recovery system design is the most challenging. The system uses a heat exchanger to extract heat from wastewater in a holding tank and preheats the domestic hot water system.
What is your favorite hobby or pastime outside of work?
Writing original music and publishing them to Spotify, iTunes music, Amazon music and 10 other streaming services.
