What is your current position? What is your area of focus?
I am a Responsible Master Plumber and Key Project Manager. I would like to focus on plumbing technology, certifications, installation, and maintenance of the new technologies. My main focus is commercial and industrial applications. With new codes arriving for hot water efficiency, for both residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

What are your career journey highlights?

  • Obtaining my master plumber license with most of my work pertaining to commercial work, including high rise buildings, hospitals, and laboratories.
  • During my time as an apprentice, I was one of the few plumbers in the field that gained a lot of experience building 2, bio-safety laboratories, level 4 containment.
  • In my 16 years of experience working for Harris County, I was able to learn about and how to work on control panels, wiring, lift station, hot water circulation balancing, and a variety of water heating methods for both domestic and HVAC.
  • At my time with AJB Construction, I have also gained experience with project management. I have learned how to not only bid and conduct plumbing work, but I also manage the construction side of projects.
  • I have also obtained certifications with Facilities Resource Group and Noritz for commercial water heating.

What motivated you to get into the plumbing engineering industry?
To better understand the plumbing field. I not only like to know what to install, and how to install, but I like better understanding of why certain applications are needed. This helps with better communication with customers.

What is the most exciting or rewarding aspect of your work?
To see my completed work, to see everything function as expected, and customer satisfaction.

What value have you gained from participation in ASPE Connect?
Seeing group based knowledge being passed around has been a key benefit for me from the community.

What is the most interesting plumbing design challenge you have encountered?

Working as a plumber, designing a hot water delivery system with limited space/voltage/amperage availability, for commercial washers that required over 155F water.

What is your favorite hobby or pastime outside of work?
I am a professional kid wrangler and a bearded soccer mom. I am very involved with my kids and all of their activities. When able, I love to camp, go off-roading on ATV's, or engage in anything outdoors away from technology.
